About Us

The Folkestone Handbook began in April 2007, and is run by Tuija Foster. The Hawkinge & Elham Valley Handbook was first published in 2009.

Tuija has a degree in business studies and marketing, and prior to the handbooks, spent the previous 10 years working in the marketing department of a leading and large local company, managing and producing marketing and direct mail campaigns to tens of thousands of customers at a time.

So, why the change?

With two children under the age of 3, it was time to take the decision to find something that I really believe in and can get my teeth into…The Folkestone Handbook! I’ve watched with interest the developments that have been taking place over the last few years in Folkestone, and have wanted to get involved in doing my bit to help it succeed. As a result of this, I am particularly excited to be able to develop this publication further to help continue to support and grow local businesses, and to expand into new areas, including The Hawkinge & Elham Valley Handbook.
