A new shop has opened in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter specialising in fine art supplies. MK ARTLAB is the creation of practising artist Kate Knight, who will run the shop, which officially opened on Saturday 17 April.
Launching the business, owner Kate said, “The aim of MK ARTLAB is to provide a service for professional, student and amateur artists, offering the best possible products at a competitive price without sacrificing quality. We hope to become a trusted supplier, where people can not only source their favourite products but also receive helpful advice on their artistic practices.”
Folkestone based Kate identified the need for greater access to specialist art materials from her own experience of working locally and having to travel to London to source some of her equipment. Opening the business in Folkestone’s burgeoning creative centre Kate said, “I have been renting a studio in the Creative Quarter for the last four years and have found the location and premises immensely beneficial and inspiring to my painting.”
MK ARTLAB will stock A2, Bockingford, Esconda, Faber Castell, Golden Acrylic, Isabey, Lakas, Mabel, Michael Harding, Raphael, Roberson and Co, Sennelier, Spectrum, Unison, Windsor & Newton and more. Opening hours will be Tuesday to Saturday 9am – 5.30pm, Sundays 10.30 – 4.30pm.
MK ARTLAB has also be launched its new Loyalty Card and a 10% discount for art students.
